How do I open file links with firefox instead of downloading and saving them?

When I click on files such as my online lecture notes, firefox automatically downloads them to my desktop. I just want them to open from the source and not have to save them. How can I change this? How do I open file links with firefox instead of downloading and saving them?
Download Mozilla Firefox 3.7.5, this version released last week fixes this issue. But since this is not released to public yet, try downloading from torrent. Here is another source below where you can get it.How do I open file links with firefox instead of downloading and saving them?

But this can be unsafe for some file types. ..

Good Luck
