So, why did Obama tell the University of Michigan grads to be open to?

opinions from everyone and listen to those whom you don't agree with to get all the facts? Good advice, too bad he doesn't take it himself, isn't it? Like how much he loves input from Reps and Fox News. Can you say Liberal hypocrite? So, why did Obama tell the University of Michigan grads to be open to?
Liberal hypocrite = redundancy

Ovomit is the new king of ';do as I say, not as I do'; If he tells those grads to listen to opinions from everyone, it puts for the illusion that he would do that, but it is an illusion.

Ridiculous monkey...You HAVE to be joking. Obama DID campaign on bi-partisanship, but it ended the day he was elected. Bi-partisan efforts on health care does not mean closed door meetings with NO REPUBLICANS ALLOWED. Bi-partisan does not mean blasting anyone who does not agree 100% with you. Bi-partisan does not mean denying that there were 7 republican health care bills that NEVER hit the floor because Queen Pelosi would not let them. Obama also campaigned on transparency and giving 5 days for the public to review any legislation that hit his desk....both of those campaign promises were also calculated lies, too.So, why did Obama tell the University of Michigan grads to be open to?
Remember that most teachers are Liberal.
Jealous much?

Obama appointed numerous Republicans to his cabinet. He spent the better part of a year trying to work with Republicans on healthcare reform. He openly preached bipartisanship during his campaign and presidency.

But conservatives have shown themselves unable to compromise on anything. Between 2006 and 2008 conservatives lost the White House and Congress - what did they expect?
If Obama didn't listen to republicans we might have had actual health-care reform with a single payer system or at least a public option
you are stupid hope that answer helps
i do believe he listens to many opinions. however agreeing with is something else.
Listening to dissenting opinions is a good thing.

Seriously considering people who have no idea what they are talking about is a waste of time.

I figured you'd be opposed to government waste.
Ridiculous to illustrate this point; when the Obama Administration has ventured to work across the aisle with the Republican Minority in the US Congress; and their answer to every effort to stabilize the country is ';NO';. Obstructionism isn't an answer.
You - and the Republicans in Congress - confuse listening and obeying. You are a minority in Congress. You have had your say and been heard. Now get over it.
he said listen, he didn't say ';take bad advice';... that's the key issue you seem to be missing here...
Im wondering why lately there has been alot more liberal politicians in the Obama administration on FOX NEWS. Maybe some of them are seeing the marxist lights flashing in DC!
There's a difference between listening to opposing view points and cowtowing to every whim of the minority party in your government.
Do u take that advice?

He doesn't have to listen to morons.
VOTERS WONT BE TAKING ANY MORE GOP ADVICE

ON OIL

hahahahhahahahhahahahahhha

SPILLS

hahahhahaha
if he had asked them to keep their minds closed and never listen to different opinions-would that have made you happy?

he told them to keep an open mind about different opinions in order to keep our democracy strong

so you keep watching FOX news, and the rest of us will watch everything else and keep ahead
no!! much easyer to say village idiot???
That was the good part of that speech.

The scary part was him telling people to dis the ';extremists';, like they have no right to speak their mind.

He automatically labels the dissenters that are a little further from his center than he is comfortable with ';haters';.

Sounded like he was going after freedom of speech next.
yeah how care he tell the students to be open minded?

another example of the big governments and telling ppl how to live theri lives...

like a nanny state blah blah...
One should always be open to differing opinions but that doesn't mean that anyone has to accept ridiculous nonsense without challenging it. It also doesn't mean that anyone has to accept the propaganda statements and lies from Fox News as facts or much of the political rhetoric from the Republicans as having validity. That would be a dishonest exercise and would involve a serious suppression of intellect and integrity. You used poor examples.

Individuals should listen to what others have to say and make intelligent decisions as to the value of what they say, based on reality. Your question implies that individuals should suspend their intelligence and basic humanity in order to somehow accept opinions based, for instance, in intolerance, bigotry and studied ignorance. That will not happen.
Obama has had forums with Republicans, had them over for dinners, meetings, etc. He has reached out for their opinions continuously. What does FOX News have to do with anything? They are just a cable news outlet and not some official Republican Party outlet....right? :)
