How to make more friends in high school?

i just started going to public school and im having a hard time opening up and making new friends..i dont really know what to talk about with people. does anyone have tips and a step by step way to make friends? best answer=10 ptsHow to make more friends in high school?
When I first started high school back in 2006,I had the same issue.I was shy.


But eventually I started to open up and just keep a positive attitude.When people


realize your a nice person,they will talk to you.You don't necessarily have to start


a conversation,every person is different.But if you feel comfortable enough try


to find someone that you perhaps sit with in class; that is maybe lonely or doesn't

Most important thing: Dont be shy! Be confident, its just school.. and to be honest. not having many friends does not hurt you or mean your a crappy person. I'm sure your wonderful. High school kids are just too clicky.. There is no specific way to make friends. Keep your arms open, and stay open to who ever passes by. If they reach out, dont be shy and dont decline them. Be appreciative, honest and kind.. Maybe even reach out to a few people!!

I agree with some of the answers on here! The best way to make friends, is to make people see you, try to join clubs and meet new people. Sit with different girls at lunch!
Be yourself I guess because I'm not really a social person, but I have like six friends. The first two I met due to the boyscout and for the rest-i really don't know. I just had a camera one day and asked if I could interview one of my friends for a film project I was working on and we've been hanging out ever since. The rest were friends of him so they became my friends. The point is that you need to be yourself and the right people will surround you, because none of the people I hang out with are assholes.
