I'm running firefox 3.6 on windows xp.
When I load a page with a .mov file and click on the video to start it firefox opens it in an external application (VLC).
What do I need to change so mov files on my hard disk are associated with VLC, but firefox will play movs within the web page ( like it does with all other video types).
ThanksHow can I open mov files in Firefox?
mov is not a file type, it is a container. Unless the website has an embeddable player for the movie, you will have to save and open it with something else.
Otherwise you will have to crap up your computer by installing Quicktime and then assign it as the owner of certain mime types. Firefox must be closed when you install the browser plugin that way.
When you restart it will work.
